Hi. I'm glad you're here.

I help men, new dads, and postpartum couples to find more calm, more clarity, more compassion, more confidence, more creativity, more curiosity, more courage, and more connection in their emotional and relational lives.

MY MISSION IS TO EMPOWER MENNEW DADS, AND THEIR PARTNERS.

Advanced and specialized trainings in postpartum mental health, perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, and the psychology of men & masculinities guide my clinical and community-based work to empower and promote benevolent masculinities, postpartum mental health, family wellness, and antiracist, non-violent, DEI communities.

THE WORLD NEEDS MENTALLY HEALTHY MEN AND BOYS.

Many men won't typically seek mental health treatment. If they do, then they don't typically receive the kinds of care that they need. My practice is specialized to work with men and new dads because I believe that too many of our boys and men have long been in crisis. It's my pleasure, power, and privilege in doing what I can to help.

NASW VALUES ARE MY VALUES.
  • Service

  • Social Justice

  • Dignity and Worth of Every Person

  • Importance of Human Relationships

  • Integrity

  • Competence

The values of the National Association of Social Workers, which is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world, with more than 120,000 members, are my values.

As a NASW Member, I'm committed to the NASW Code of Ethics, and I believe in its values, principles, and standards, which guide social workers' everyday decision-making and professional conduct.

SOME MATT FACTS:

I'm an aspiring polyglot. I love the beautiful game and I'm a passionate shareholder of Manchester United Football Club. My superpowers are cooking meals, folding clothes, singing Disney songs, changing diapers, loading the dishwasher, and cherishing all of my time with my wife, our two sons, and our fur baby named Emory.

I've been a therapist for the past decade. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2011 from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work degree in 2013 from New York University Silver School of Social Work.

Parts of my time are dedicated to my professional affiliations and memberships with the National Association of Social Workers, the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work, Postpartum Support International, the Baltimore Postpartum Mental Health Professionals Study Group, the American Psychological Association's Division 51 - Society for the Psychological Study of Men & Masculinities, and the APA D51 Antiracist Taskforce.
